Yes spring is here, skies are turning bluer, nights are lighter and our minds start drifting to the summer months ahead. But as my Nan would say “Never cast a clout until May is out”. The weather may be picking up, but we’re not quite ready for shorts and t/shirts. Our long sleeve polos, printed tees paired with an overshirt or our classic bomber are perfect for the next few months however. We have put together our spring collection on our website, and  as always with MARAI each piece mixes and matches with multiple pieces throughout the collection and when Summer finally does arrive, you can start to swap out your plain pants or cargo’s for our collection of technical shorts.

As a multi brand store our spring/summer deliveries would always start arriving from January. Something as a retailer that was always frustrating, were that collections for this time of year are always aimed towards the hot summer months and we never had product suited for the later part of Winter leading into spring. A memory that resonates with me that ties into this, was a few years ago when we bought a collection that was very much based around short sleeves and vibrant colours. The collection in question arrived the second week of January, and payment plans would start the following week, so for us as a small independent, this stock had to go out as soon as, in the hope that we would manage to get at least a couple of sales to contribute to payments going out. Stock went out, was merchandised in store, and it gave a bright and cheerful feel that was perfect for the Summer, whilst outside the weather was anything but. So when coming up with a collection for MARAI, we aimed to change this issue and help pave the way for a collection that fit in with the start of Spring/end of Winter.

I love how each season brings about changes in your wardrobe. Anyone who knows me, knows I am a big fan of layers, how different fabrics work with each other and of course keep you warm. But at the same time, being able to finally ditch the layers as we gradually move to just shorts and t-shirt is always a welcome and refreshing feeling. Easter is coming very soon and May has three Bank holidays. So, if you’re struggling to put together outfits, call into either our Metquarter Store or MARAI on Stopgate Lane, where we are always happy to help and advise. Enjoy the months ahead, and as always thank you for all of your support.
