In our offices we constantly have debates over a massive selection of subjects, with the most recent one to come up being, ‘is it ever acceptable to wear socks and slides?’. Well, this topic certainly has divided our office in recent weeks...

Back in the Summer of 2015, myself and Louis were in Paris waiting to go into the Y3 catwalk show, and we were surrounded by these super cool Japanese fashionistas. Now, here’s the issue. Many of which were adopting this socks and slides look. Where do I land on this? I’m sorry to say but this is not a good look in my eyes.

Back to our office conversations. I’ve heard excuses like “I wear them around the house” or “If I am just jumping in the car it’s ok to be seen out in public”. No, it is not in my book, no excuses ever, it just shouldn’t be done. It’s like wearing a baseball cap backwards. The weather is warming up now so I guess I am going to see a lot of this over the next few months. But I suppose fashion has no rules. It’s always a personal choice and a means to express yourself, so at the end of the day, who am I to criticise? Let us know what you think. Are socks and slides a fashionable look, or are they a huge red flag?
